Our journey was a stress-free and pleasant experience, thanks to the reliable and comfortable service provided by Great Western Railway (GWR). The train journey took approximately two hours and allowed us to enjoy the stunning views of the countryside. The modern and well-equipped train provided us with comfortable seating, charging points for electronic devices, and free Wi-Fi.

Where To Stay In Bristol
Our stay at Hotel du Vin Bistro, a boutique hotel located in the heart of Bristol, was a memorable experience. The hotel is a converted 18th-century sugar refinery and provides 40 unique rooms and suites, each with its own individual design and character. Our spacious and beautifully decorated room featured a comfortable king-size bed, a flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The well-appointed bathroom included luxurious toiletries.
One of the highlights of our stay was dining at the hotel’s bistro, which uses locally-sourced ingredients to create a range of delicious dishes. The food was expertly prepared, presented, and served by attentive and friendly staff. If you’re looking for an Instagrammable restaurant in Bristol, the Florist definitely fits the bill! The decor was chic and trendy, with a beautiful floral installation as the centrepiece of the restaurant. The food was also beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked.

During our stay, we took the opportunity to explore the city’s many highlights. From historic ships to modern shopping destinations, Bristol has something for everyone.
The Wall Group Tour, one of the first things we did was take a tour of the city’s street art with the Wall Group. Led by a knowledgeable guide, we saw some of the city’s most famous murals and learned about the history and culture behind them. The tour was informative and engaging and gave us a unique perspective on Bristol’s creative scene.
Cabot Circus, for those looking for some retail therapy, is a must-visit destination. This modern shopping centre features over 120 stores, including high-end fashion retailers, restaurants, and a cinema. We spent an entire evening browsing the shops and enjoying a meal at one of the centre’s many restaurants.
Bristol Aquarium, located in the heart of the city, is a must-visit attraction for nature lovers. With its impressive collection of marine creatures from around the world, including sharks, rays, and colourful tropical fish, the Aquarium is a fascinating place to explore. Visitors can also watch feeding sessions and attend talks to learn more about the underwater world.
M Shed, for history buffs, is a must-visit museum in Bristol. It tells the story of the city’s development over the years, including its industrial heritage and role in the slave trade. The museum features interactive exhibits, displays of art, and a variety of events throughout the year.
The Matthew, a replica of the historic ship that sailed from Bristol to Newfoundland in 1497, is a unique experience that transports visitors back in time. Visitors can explore the ship and learn about its history, or even take a sail around the harbour
